Standard Neck Wick Sustainers

Wicks Unlimited manufacturers and supplies eleven (11) unique standard neck wick sustainers that enable candle manufacturers to create tabbed wicks from waxed wick on reels. Our standard sustainers are manufactured from .010” (0.254 mm) thick tin-coated steel that helps inhibit corrosion and are preferred by leading candle manufacturers worldwide.

This best-selling sustainer series includes neck heights of 3.8 mm and 6.0 mm, with either a 15.0 mm or 20.0 mm base diameter(s) for easy gluing. The sustainer’s neck height and crimp determine the container’s base thermal profile, indicating an aggressive or a conservative system and the remaining amount of wax at the candle’s end of life.

  • Standard candle sustainers are available with either 3.8 mm or 6.0 mm neck height(s). 
  • Available with either a 15.0 mm or 20.0 mm base diameter(s) for easy gluing. 
  • Wick insertion hole diameters from 2.1 mm to 4.1 mm to meet your specific requirements. 
  • Manufactured from .010” (0.254 mm) thick tin-coated steel that helps inhibit corrosion.
  • 3.8 mm standard sustainers are only available with puncture crimp. 
  • 6.0 mm regular sustainers are available with a puncture or non-puncture crimping options for in-house cut and tab production runs.

Glossary of Terms

Yield

Measured in yards of wick per pound in weight. The higher the yield, the smaller the wick and the flame and the resulting heat generated.

ROC

The rate of wax consumption in ounces by the wick in one hour. The higher the burn rate the more wax which is being consumed. Used to determine how well a wick and wax combination is performing.
